Eye Makeup Tutorial

Here are some great tips on applying eye makeup for dance and stage performances.

They say that the eyes are the doorway to the soul.  Performers on stage are supposed to convey feeling or emotion to connect with the audience.  Since the lights are very bright on stage, and the audience can be sitting far away in the back rows or balconies, it is important that your makeup helps your eyes to show.

While everyday makeup looks best when it is subtle and blended, the opposite is true for stage makeup.  The eyes need to be dramatic.  Follow Erika’s tips for applying eye makeup for stage to make your eyes look bigger and brighter to your audience.  The colors we use are neutral, so they go with any costume.
