PC Skills for Kids
PC games on the computer are great fun, but there are also many programs and skills to learn to be really good on the computer.
You will need everything from learning how to use a basic word processing program like Microsoft Word to other popular program types like spreadsheet programs (Excel) and even learn your way around Ebay.
Computer skills are now considered a necessary life skill, but schools still underemphazise the importance of getting your computer skills up to speed. This section will try to help introduce you to different skills you will need to master on the PC (or Mac). So first start learning to type well (if you need Spongebob Typing Tutor or other software, then get that and get faster and better with typing so that learning the different PC programs becomes easier and you also minimize typos by typing correctly in the first place.
Paying attention in English class may also be necessary as grammar and word selection are increasingly important skills since the internet is still primarily a written resource. (you can't always pull out a webcam or even your web enabled cellphone when responding to someone's email or posting an article on the web).
Once you have mastered typing skills, you can go on to communicate with friends online, type letters, write articles and be more productive on your computer and pretty much anything you undertake. Even online games require fast typing skills (such as WOW -World of Warcraft).
