Aboriginal Dance
These aboriginal dance performers appear at the Tjapakai Cultural Centre, Cairns, in North Queensland, Australia. The aboriginal people are the native people of Australia.
Katrina has actually been there to see them. She also got to throw a boomerang, fed a kangaroo and pet a koala while in Australia. G’day Mate.
Traditional aboriginal dance is performed by children in villages and also older dancers. They use Gapan, or white clay to decorate their face and limbs, so the preparation before the dance can take some time.
The actual dancing cermony is called a bungul.
Cermonies may also include wonderful stories and teachings of the land.
