Ice Dancing
Couples Dancing On Ice
Ice dancing is a combination of ballroom dancing and figure skating. It became an Olympic event in 1976. Ice dancing is different than pair dancing because partners are not supposed to be seperated by more than 2 arms lengths during the entire performance. Throws and jumps are also not allowed.
Skaters are also judged on the quality of dancing and must skate to music with a definite beat. Watch this compilation of videos of to see ice dancing couples. It does kind of look like ballroom dancing on skates.
