South America is a continent rich in natural resources. Spanish is spoken through most of South America, except in Brazil – where they speak Portuguese. South America is home to the Andes mountains, the Amazon river and the most extensive rain forests on Earth.
The conquest of South America by the European explorers took a heavy tool on its indigenous peoples. The Inca civilization was on of the great ancient civilizations in South America.
Countries that make up South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. South America has many wonderful Latin dance styles including cha cha cha, salsa dance and the tango– watch a few on these videos.
