Woodwinds
Learn to Play Woodwinds
Learn to play one or more woodwinds and join a school band or orchestra. Woodwinds are instruments where you play through a reed or blow across the edge of the instrument.
Reed instruments include clarinet and saxophone. There are also double-reed instruments that use 2 reeds such as the bassoon which usually plays the counterpoint!
The flute is also a woodwind instrument, but does not have a reed. You simply blow across the metal opening. There are may wooden flutes and pan flutes also where you blow across the opening to make the sound. The flute is harder to learn in the beginning, but it is very portable and you can pick it up and play it anywhere once you get it.
Finger holes are used to play different notes. Have fun in your orchestra or band!
