How To Curve The Ball

How do you curve a soccer ball?

David Beckham is best known for his ability to curve a ball. However there have been many outstanding players whose ball handling skills are mimicked worldwide.

Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima was born on September 22, 1976 in Bento Ribeiro, Brazil.  Ronaldo is a forward and wears jersey number 9.  He was named as FIFA’s soccer player of the year in 1996 and 1997.

Ronaldo holds the world record for goals in World Cup play – a total of 15.  He played in the 1998, 2002 and 2006 world cups.    He has played professionally for Dutch team PSV Eindhoven, Barcelona, Internazionale Milano, Real Madrid and A.C. Milan.

When you curve the ball, look at the point on the ball where you want to strike it, take a running start and keep your body over the ball when striking it.

Check out some videos of successful spinning of the ball and freeze frame so you can see how it is being struck on the opposite side.
