Guitar & Mandolin
Guitar & Mandolin
Watch the Tuttle kids, Michael (8) and Sullivan (10) with sister Molly, play a bluegrass version of El Cumbanchero on mandolin and guitar.
Mandolins are generally round instruments in the "lute" family. They resemble guitars but have a distinctive sound.
The fingerboards are typically flat and fretted. Strings are attached to the tailpiece. The instrument is plucked so is also similar to guitar in that respect.
Some mandolin types are actually bowl shaped. There is also a banjo style body.
