Go for a walk in the woods to see colourful leaves Gather up a pile of leaves to jump in

Find a place to go apple picking. Visit a farm that has a hay stack maze or tractor rides. They usually have produce for sale – pick your own pumpkins, corn or apples.

Bake with your family or friends – It is a great time of year to make apple crumble or pumpkin pies. Or you can roast or buy pumpkin seeds that are delicious, healthy and fun to eat.

Decorate Jack-o-lanterns. Make your design first with washable marker, then use as a guide for cutting out the design. Don’t make your pumpkins more than 7 or so days ahead of time – you want them to look fresh for Halloween. Many stencils and cut-out patterns are also available to design your pumpkin.

Happy Halloween! See our Halloween Section including tips on Halloween baking, costumes, Halloween decorations and supplies.

We also feature a video and information on how to make your own Halloween Treat Bags with fun toys instead of sugary candy (although you can add some candy to them also). These Treat Bags are fun to put together and great to hand out for Trick or Treaters, or to Halloween Party guests.
